Jose Vidro

Jose Vidro was the designated hitter for the Mariners for all of 2007 and half of 2008. He was acquired prior to the 2007 season in the deal-heard-round-the-blogosphere.

Jose Vidro has been timed in the 100 meter dash at 97.43 seconds, earning him the nickname "Turbo". Ironically, he began the 2007 season by garnering several infield hits, to which Jeff Sullivan wrote, "either Mariner coaches are hiding sandwiches behind first base or Vidro spreads bacon grease up the baseline before the game so he can slide his gelatinous way to glory a few hours later."
