JJ Putz

JJ Putz is the closer for the Mariners, meaning he is the team's best reliever but must therefore receive one-third the playing time of a Julio Mateo.

Dave Niehaus was caught, when he thought he was off-air, once remarking about the Mariners bringing in JJ, "watch this big fucker come in and walk the world." However, since 2006, JJ sports a nifty 8.0 strikeout to walk ratio.
