Jeremy Reed is an outfielder for the the Tacoma Rainiers, the Mariners' AAA affiliate, although he has played several seasons at the major league level with the Mariners.
He was acquired on June 27, 2004 from the Chicago White Sox along with Miguel Olivo and Mike Morse. Chicago received Freddy Garcia and Ben Davis.
Jeremy Reed was a promising minor league prospect when the Mariners traded for him, but has since failed to live up to his potential. He reached his low point in 2006 when Hargrove deemed it necessary to platoon him in center field with noted terrible hitter, Willie Bloomquist. It should be noted, however, that when Reed plays in his native Southern California, he temporarily morphs into Ted Williams incarnate. Might still be useful for his defense and plate discipline, but needs a goddamned haircut.
