Felix Hernandez

Also known as 'King Felix', Felix Hernandez is the young ace of the Mariners. He came into the big leagues in 2005 and posted great numbers, only to falter due to a variety of reasons in 2006, despite great peripheral numbers. He began 2007 with a 12 strikeout 8 inning shutout of the Oakland Athletics and followed that up with a 1-hitter against the Red Sox in Fenway against Daisuke Matsuzaka. In his next start, he left in the first inning with tightness in his elbow. The Return of the King is scheduled for May 4th 9th 15, 2007.

Notable accomplishments include:

  • Building the pyramids
  • Conquering the Roman empire
  • Becoming the youngest pitcher in history to strike out 12 while allowing no runs in a season opener
  • Being the youngest player in the league in 2005, 2006, and 2007
  • Inventing fire
  • Recommending the Bro/Manzier to Jose Vidro
  • Throwing his fastball too often

While it does not pain us Mariner fans at all to remind you that Felix is ours and you cannot have him, any pain felt by Felix is felt by us tenfold.
