Dan Wilson

Dan Wilson was the catcher for the Mariners from 1994 when he was traded here from the Reds for Bret Boone, until 2005, when age, and an injury made him want to end his career. He was a fan favorite to many and some argue that he should be inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame. His reputation generally overlooks his bad bat, even for a catcher. His defensive reputation, as a former goalie, is deserved though.

On Dan Wilson night in 2006, former manger Lou Pinella criticized him for his pitch selection to David Justice in the 2000 ALCS. Combined with his annual abysmal post season performance and Arthur Rhodes, it kept the Mariners out of the World Series

Along with Jamie Moyer, Wilson is very active in the community, and is generally regarded as the nicest guy on the freakin' planet.
