Cha Seung Baek

Cha Seung Baek was a Mariner (in some sense) from 2004-2008. He was nothing special, but he wasn't that bad, either. Was durable and cost absolutely nothing. An excellent candidate for 4th/5th starter, especially on a team with a pitching staff made of glass.

Baek was traded to the San Diego Padres for a sack of chaw spit Jared Wells in June of 2008. The Mariners were worried about not having enough people in the bullpen for the one game left before an off day. Seriously. Yes. They traded an average-ish, dirt cheap back-of-the-rotation starter for nothing because they were worried about one meaningless game long after any thoughts of contention were a distant memory. Baek is, in a certain sense, the anti-Cairo.

Baek's facial expressions have become a source of much humor to LL. No matter what emotional state he is in, he always looks like he's about to get ass raped by a freshly roided up Mark McGwire.
