Bret Boone

2B for Padres who signed here as a free-agent before the 2001 season. Was originally a prospect of the Mariners but was traded (along with Erik Hanson) for Dan Wilson and Booby Ayala. In 2001, Boone had one of the greatest years for a 2B in history, hitting .331 with 37 homeruns and 141 RBIs, while being a deserving Gold Glove winner.

Caused many Mariner fans to cover their ears and hum loudly at the mention of the word steroid. Last seen being a belligerent drunk in Las Vegas.
