Brandon Morrow
1st round draft pick (#5 overall) by the Mariners last year, a starter out of Cal. Only spent 16 innings pitching in the minors that year before being injured. Impressed front office during Spring Training and made the 25-man roster as a reliever. After some good outings some paranoid fans worry that he'll end up like Rafael Soriano instead of spending time in the minors working out flaws and practicing being a starter, which is what the M's drafted him to be.
Moved to the starting rotation in September of 2008. In his first start, no-hit the Yankees for 7-2/3 innings before surrendering an RBI double to Wilson Betemit. Has a sexy, sexy curveball.
