Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez, a shortstop is widely known as one of the greatest players of all-time. He played for the M's from 1995-2000 and then signed a 10 year 252 million dollar contract with Texas, but now plays for the Yankees. He has an average over .300 and over 500 homeruns.

Alex is in a love / hate relationship with the City of Seattle. Everybody loves him because he's one of the best baseball players ever and because he was a "home grown" prospect. Everybody hates him because he left during free agency to the Rangers for a ridiculously huge contract despite everything he told the fans about wanting to stay, not being about the money, or, at least, wanting to go to a sure-fire contender (which Texas was not). Alex is still booed in Seattle to this day, and his going to the Yankees has done nothing to help that.

After signing with Texas, Alex Rodriguez reportedly wrote a letter to Boeing executives highlighting the benefits of moving their corporate headquarters to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The A-Rod hating in Seattle really began when this became publicly known.

Has yet to win a championship, and gets shat upon by the media and Yankee fans for that despite performing fine in the playoffs.
